22 days of exploring Vietnam with its ethnic hilltribes and the fantastic mountain landscapes
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi.
Transfer by ToDeCo, check-in at a 3-star hotel (Boutique-Hotel) in the centre of the Old Quarter. Dinner in a restaurant, return to the hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Hoa Binh. After breakfast, trip to Hoa Binh in a province west of Hanoi (approx.distance 120 km). Visit the ethnic MUONG. Visit of tribal villages with overnight homestay in a stilts’ home in Cho Bo (Hoa Binh Province). Meals served by host family. |

Day 3: Travel to Mai Chau (Hoa Binh Province) Continue with exploration of awesome landscapes and the different ethnic groups in Hoa Binh Province. Your guide will assist in learning more about people and their ways of living. Homestay in a Thai village.
Day 4: Travel to Dien Bien Early breakfast, trip to Dien Bien via Son La (distance approx. 350 km). Excursions to the H’Mong tribe and photo stops. Overnight stay in a hotel in Dien Bien. |

Day 5: Dien Bien After breakfast, excursion to the villages of the hilltribes, trekking and visit of the Thai people, see the battlefields of Dien Bien Phu. Overnight homestay with a Thai family.
Day 6: Travel to Sa Pa. Full day trip to Sa Pa (via Lai Chau) with photo stops and lunch (distance approx.. 320 km). Overnight in a 3 star hotel in Sa Pa, e.g Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel.
Day 7: Sa Pa In the morning a visit of the scenic ethnic villages of Ban Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van. Afternoon excursion to the “Thac Bac Falls”. Overnight stay either as family homestay or in a 3-star hotel, e.g Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel. |

Day 8: Sa Pa Excursion to the Ham Rong Mountain, during specific tour dates enjoy a small cultural programme by ethnic groups. See the Cat Cat village (take your hiking shoes). Overnight stay either as family homestay or in a 3-star hotel, e.g Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel.
Day 9: Trip to Bac Ha Full day trip to Bac Ha, on your way enjoy the scenic village of Ta Phin. See the border post to China at Lao Cai. Arrival in Bac Ha in the evening, overnight stay in Bac Ha. |

Day 10: Sunday Market at Bac Ha (only on Sundays) Enjoy the scenic Bac Ha Sunday Market and some nature hike in the vicinity of Bac Ha, overnight stay in Bac Ha.
Day 11: Trip to Ha Giang (distance approx. 260 km) Full day trip to Ha Giang, arrival in the evening, overnight stay in Ha Giang ( provincial capital). |

Day 12: Ha Giang
Excursions to the villages of the hilltribes (e.g. Quan Ba, Yen Minh or Meo Vac and Dong Van ). Enjoy the scenic beauty of the rock formations and visit the former palace of the H’Mong headman. Overnight stay either in Dong Van or Ha Giang.

Day 13: Ha Giang - Cao Bang Full day trip to Cao Bang, arrival in the evening, overnight stay in Cao Bang ( provincial capital), e.g Bang Giang Hotel.

Day 14: Cao Bang Excursions to Ban Gioc with its beautiful falls (close to the Chinese border), enjoy the scenic beauty of the vicinity of Cao Bang, overnight stay in Cao Bang, e.g Bang Giang Hotel.
Day 15: Trip to Bac Kan. Morning trip to the Ba Be National Park, arrival at lunch time. Afternoon visit to stroll the small town of Cho Ra. Overnight stay in a mini hotel in Cho Ra, province of Bac Kan. |

Day 16: Bac Kan Enjoy a boat trip to the Dong Puong Cave and the Dau Dang Falls (Ba Be National Park) and to the villages of the ethic minorities Tay and Nung. At noon, visit Tay and Nung families in their village of Pac Ngoi. Overnight family home stay with Tay and Nung families. |

Day 17: Bac Kan Enjoy another boat trip or hiking trip in the National Park. Overnight family home stay with Tay and Nung families. Learn more about their customs, enjoy the local cuisine.
Day 18: Trip to Ha Long (distance approx. 320 km) Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel, e.g. BMC-Thang Long Hotel.
Day 19: Ha Long Bay Full day boat cruise in scenic Ha Long Bay. Enjoy overnight stay on your junk.
Day 20: From Ha Long Bay to Hanoi Enjoy your morning cruise, lunch time on the boat, afterwards return to Hanoi (arrival in the evening). Overnight stay in 3-star Hotel, e.g Boutique Hotel. |

Day 21: Hanoi Free time 
Your choice of enjoying Hanoi on your own. Suggestions: Watch the locals doing their morning workout at Hoan Kiem Lake, take a cycle rickshaw tour of the major temples and pagodas and take in the unique atmosphere around you.
Overnight stay in 3-star Hotel, e.g Boutique Hotel.
Day 22: Transfer to Hanoi International Airport
In the morning, transfer to Noi Ban Airport by ToDeCo.
