Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival Hanoi

Pick-up at Hanoi Airport by your German-speaking Vietnamese tour-guide. Transfer to your 3-star hotel close to the old quarter of Hanoi. Overnight stay in your 3 star-hotel in Hanoi, e.g. Hanoi Boutique Hotel

Day 2: Hanoi 

In the morning, take a city tour including One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh’s residence and temple of literature (Vietnam’s first high school dating back to 1070).

In the afternoon see the Ethnology Museum and a 1-hour rickshaw tour of the old quarter. In the evening watch a water puppet show.

Overnight stay in your 3 star-hotel in Hanoi, e.g Hanoi Boutique Hotel

Day 3: Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Hoa Binh 

Morning drive to NinhBinh( 90 km), visit the fantastic scenery of “Halong Bay on land”. Small sampanspiloted by lady scullers take you through rice fields amongst high-rising karst towers and limestone tunnels “Tam Coc”. Lunch on the spot.

In the afternoon, drive to HoaBinh, arrival in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in your middle class hotel, e.g Hoa Binh II Hotel

Day 4: Hoa Binh

In the morning, visit the different ethnic minority villages in Giang Mo and the Dao village in HoaBinh. Lunch will be taken in HoaBinh, afterwards, return drive to Hanoi and enter the night train from Hanoi to Lao Cai in the Northwest (departure from Hanoi station approx. 19h30). Enjoy the night train drive in your 4-bed soft sleeper compartment.

Day 5: Arrive Lao Cao - Sa Pa

Early morning arrival in Lao Cai( approx. 05h30). Your drive (approx. 45 min) takes you into the mountaineous area of Sa Pa, the beautiful scenery shows picturesque rice terraces and wide valleys.Check in at your Sa Pa 3 star-hotel, the Bamboo hotel. After breakfast, visit some of the villages of the ethnic minorities in the Sa Pa area, e.g. Lao Chai and Ta Van. These visits provide insights to the daily life of minorities like “Red Dao” or “Black H’Mong”.

In the afternoon, after lunch, take a stroll to visit the village Cat Cat, return to Sa Pa. During your stay at Sa Pa, all the popular spots can be easily reached by walking, enjoy the unique atmosphere of this picturesque town. Do not miss to visit the local market.

Day 6: Sa Pa and return to Lao Cai

In the morning, take the time to visit the Ham Rong Mountain in SaPa, on specific dates you might be able to enjoy some local folklore programmes of music and dance.

After lunch, drive to Lao Cai to catch the night train to Hanoi (departure time at approx. 20h00). Enjoy the night train drive in your 4-bed soft sleeper compartment, arrive Hanoi in the early morning around 05h30.

Day 7: Hanoi - Ha Long

After breakfast, depart Hanoi for a three-hour’ drive to Ha Long to enter your boat for a cruise through Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO world-heritage site. This is one of the most spectacular places in Vietnam, the numerous islands formed by limestone towers and the impressive grottos are of extreme attraction tomany visitors. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board of your junk. Cruise Ha Long Bay with opportunities for kayaking and swimming. Overnight stay in your cabin on board of your boat.

Day 8: From Ha Long to Hanoi Airport - Flight to Hue

Disembark your boat early in the morning, drive to Hanoi airport to check-in for your one-hour flight to Hué. Check-in at your hotel and take lunch. Afterwards, enjoy a boat-trip on the Huongriver to visit the Thien-Mu Pagoda. Later, return to the city center for dinner. Overnight stay in Hue in your 3-star, e.g. Moonlight Hotel.

Day 9: Hue - Hoi An

In the morning, see the beautiful surroundings of Hue and visit the late Emperor TuDuc’s Mausoleum. Lunch in Hué, in the afternoon, your drive via the Pass of the Ocean Clouds (Hai Van) takes you via Da Nang to Hoi An, where you start your relaxing beach holiday at the beautiful beaches of Cua Dai. Arrival in the evening, overnight stay in your 5-star hotel, the Palm Garden Resort.

After breakfast, transfer to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Saigon. Check-in at your 4-star hotel Rex. Afternoon drive to the tunnels of Cu Chi in the vicinity of Ho-Chi-Minh-City, a legendary site of hiding and fighting of Vietcong during the Vietnam War. Overnight stay in your 4-star Hotel, e.g. Rex Hotel
 

Day 17: Mekong Delta (Can Tho)

After breakfast, early morning departure for the Mekong Delta.During your drive, you can visit the local market of My Tho and the VinhTrang Pagoda. Afterwards, your bus takes you to the bridge of Mu U, where you will embark your boat for a 90 minutes‘ ride to your  Ninh Kieu Hotel.
Arrival in Can Tho in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in your 3- star Hotel, e.g. Ninh Kieu 2 Hotel

Day 18: Can Tho and return to Ho Chi Minh City 

After breakfast morning boat-ride on the Mekong River to visit a „floating market“ and an orchard.
After lunch, return to Ho-Chi-Minh-City.Afternoon visit of the Chinese Quarters Cho Lon. Overnight stay in your 4-star Hotel, e.g. Rex Hotel

Day 19: Ho Chi Minh City

Individual stay in town, Overnight stay in your 4-star Hotel, e.g. Rex Hotel.

Day 20: Ho-Chi-Minh-City and transfer to the airport for the return flight to Europe

Individual stay in town until transfer to Ho-Chi-Minh-City Airport. End of journey.
