Cultural experiences in Ha Noi - Ninh Binh - Hue - Hoi An with

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Ha Noi 

Travellers will be picked up and transferred to Ha Noi Boutique Hotel (***) or similar one in the old quarter.

Day 2: Visiting handicraft villages in Ha Noi (for adults and children)

Tour the 700-year old riverside Bát Tràng Ceramics Village where families can ma

ke and decorate your own vases, flagons, cups...; visit the traditional kilns in old brick-walled houses to witness the process of ceramics-making; visit the traditional Communal House; buy series of local ceramics products in the souvenir area.

Then, travel to the 11^th century Đông Hồ Woodcut Painting Village (35km NorthEast of Ha Noi), one of the 

few well-known remaining painting villages and best kept secrets in Viet Nam. Đông Hồ is special of: (i) century-old woodblocks used to print with different themes reflecting the diverse rural life, (ii) the paint colours are naturally found in the area, (iii) the painting papers are made from local materials. Vietnamese families usually decorate their homes with Đông Hồ Painting, especially for celebrating Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year).

Day 3: City Tour of Ha Noi (for adults and children)

In the morning, visit Thong Nhat Amusement Park where children can enjoy the playing ground. The highlight is Tò He – a traditional toy made of glutinous rice powder with different colours and figures ranging from animal to folk stories. Children can learn how to make Tò He.

After lunch, visit Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology where all aspects of lives of 54 ethnic groups in Viet Nam are displayed, namely traditional costumes, furniture, houses, religious services and worship...

Day 4: Excursion in Ninh Binh

Go on a trip to Ninh Binh (about 90km south of Ha Noi) to visit the ‘inland Ha Long Bay’. Transfered by car to the parking lot in Ninh Binh, families enjoy the boat tour rowed by local women along the scenic stream full of rice fields and mountains around. There are some old temples on the way.  

In the afternoon, return to Ha Noi to watch the 11^th century Water Puppet Show. The puppets are managed to dance, swim, fly… on the water stage by local artists standing behind the stage curtain. While watching the performance, families can listen to the traditional opera songs of North Viet Nam and learn of the old countryside life of Viet Nam.

Day 5: Ha Noi - Hue

Free time in the morning and then Transfer to Noi Bai Airport taking domestic flight to Hue.

Day 6: Cultural tour in Hue

In the morning, visit the Imperial Citadel which the Nguyen Dynasty ruled from 1802 to 1945.

After lunch, take the boat trip to visit the most famous religious place in town, Thiên Mụ Pagoda (Heaven Fairy Lady Pagoda) surrounded by peaceful pine forest.

The day will be ended with visit to one of the beautiful old Garden-Houses and have dinner at one local family.

Day 7: Hue - Hoi An

Visit Imperial Tombs of Tu Duc King (typically old architecture) and Khai Dinh King (modern architecture in the early 20^th century) in Hue in the morning. After lunch, travellers go through Hai Van Pass with its fascinating views of Da Nang City and its bay, then enjoy a short break in Marble Mountains (Da Nang City) before reaching Hoi An.

Day 8: Cultural tour in Hoi An

A city tour of old town in the morning. In the 16^th to 17^th century, Hoi An was a well-known trading port in Southeast Asia. Throughout the years, the architecture and lifestyle remain in this city. A walk will take you to the city centre to visit the historic homes of traders, the 400-year-old Japanese-contributed Roofed Bridge, the colorful market, Assembly Halls of Chinese Origin...

In the afternoon, visit My Son Holy Land (Sanctuary), the capital of the former Champa Kingdom (40 km southwest of Hoi An), which is located in a green valley. Travellers will have to chance to touch dozens of ancient red-brick towers built during the 4th to 13th century with different shapes and architecture.

Day 9: Hoi An for adults and children: Tra Que Vegetable Village and the lantern-making quarter

In the morning, visit Tra Que Vegetable Village, where you experience all about planting the local vegetables and the growing conditions. A refreshing herbal footbath and foot-and-head massage will bring back all of your energy, then you are engaged in a small cooking course to taste the fresh and healthy cuisine of Viet Nam. The lunch is served in a local house.

In the afternoon, visit the lantern-making quarter where you will get a short introduction to the fascinating history, the types and the colors of lanterns. You will have a chance to learn how to make the colorful lanterns with the master’s instructions. It is for sure that you can take your own personal lantern back home as a souvenir.

Day 10: Hoi An - Da Nang - Nha Trang

After breakfast, transferred from Hoi An to Da Nang Airport to take  the domestic flight to Nha Trang. Then, you will be picked up in the airport and transferred to Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort (*****) or similar one. This is the beginning of your beach vacation.

Day 11: Nha Trang for adults and children

Spend the whole day to visit the Vinpearl Amusement Park with children's playground, the Underwater World, the shopping mall and restaurants. The Vinpearl Water Park offers diverse water sports.

Day 12: Beach vacation in Nha Trang

The day is at your full leisure for swimming, sunbathing or just lying on the beach to read books.

Day 13: Nha Trang - Ha Noi - flight back to Germany

In the afternoon, you will be picked up at the hotel and transfered to Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang for domestic flight to Ha Noi.

Return flight from Ha Noi to Germany will be in the evening.
